    The family is definitely letting itself down and subsequently rotting the society by keeping quiet when these promiscuos relationships emerge and the participants try to justify them by getting "married", usually secretly.

    But then maybe another question to ask is "What does The Word of God say/mean about polygamy?" since the Old Testament is filled with this behaviour.
