    Not necessarily be "given" a platform but "free" to make coments or even participate in religion. If the Church can do the same on politics (and politicians), then they should also be at liberty to do so. And yes, Church and Politics do mix as they impact peoples' lives and so do other "areas" like Business, Education and even Sports. Trying to separate Politics and Religion can only be done at the peril of the society.
